The Oppenheimer Blue is a 14.62 carat fancy vivid blue diamond that was cut from a 35.56 carat stone. It was originally purchased by the Oppenheimer family in May of 2016 for $38.9 million. The sale of the Oppenheimer Blue made it the most expensive diamond ever sold at auction and the most expensive blue diamond in the world!

The second most expensive diamond ever sold is the Pink Star. This diamond was sold at Sotheby’s Geneva Magnificent Jewels sale in 2013 for $83.2 million. The Pink Star is a 59.60 carat fancy vivid pink diamond that was cut from a 132.5 carat stone. It was originally purchased by Isaac Wolf for $83.2 million.

The third most expensive diamond ever sold is the Graff Pink. This diamond was sold at Sotheby’s Geneva Magnificent Jewels sale in 2010 for $46.2 million. The Graff Pink is a 24.78 carat fancy intense pink diamond that was cut from a 52.73 carat stone. It was originally purchased by Laurence Graff for $29.4 million.
